One Stole Sun

A stylized, pixel-art forest scene shows the title “one stole sun” in white above a grassy clearing with a circle of statues.

Each night, one of these eight tricky statues steals the sun. Can you piece together their clues to discover the culprit before the break of dawn?

My goal for this project was simply to create a game from start to finish. To do this, I chose a concept so small it barely felt like a game at all—and then I downsized it even further from there. My main learnings from this process were about how to effectively architect and organize a codebase and how to integrate Unity, Blender, and GIMP workflows. I’m pleased with the end result; to paraphrase one of my friends, “It’s a lot more of a game than I was expecting!”

If I were to revisit this project, I would add more puzzles, spend more time tailoring the difficulty curve, and add a player-facing progress tracker. Someday, it could be fun to build out my original concept for this game: a larger logic-grid-type puzzle where each statue wants a specific offering that can be collected from the surrounding environment.
